Prayer time calculations can vary depending on the calculation method used. Establish supports multiple methods (such as Muslim World League, ISNA, Egyptian, Umm Al-Qura, and more) to accommodate regional differences.

Go to Settings → More → Calculation Method and choose the method recommended by scholars in your region.

Prayer times are calculated entirely on-device using your device's GPS coordinates and the calculation method you've chosen. No prayer time data is ever sent to an external server.

Yes. Establish uses your current location to compute times, so they automatically update as you travel. You can also manually search for and save a specific city if you prefer.

Some regions observe lunar months with a one-day offset. The Date Adjustment setting (in Settings → More) lets you shift the calculation date by ±1 day to match your local moon sighting.

• Open iPhone Settings → Establish → Notifications and make sure notifications are allowed.
• Inside Establish, go to Settings → Alerts and verify that alerts are enabled for each prayer.
• Make sure your device is not in Focus or Do Not Disturb mode, or add Establish as an allowed app in Focus settings.
• Restart the app after making any changes.

Yes. In Settings → Alerts, you can configure a reminder notification to fire a set number of minutes before each prayer time.

Yes. Tap on any prayer in the Alerts settings to choose from a selection of sounds, including traditional adhan-inspired tones.

Compass accuracy can be affected by magnetic interference. Try calibrating it by moving your phone in a figure-8 motion a few times. Also make sure you are away from large metal objects or electronic devices.

When prompted, allow Establish to access motion & orientation data for the compass to function.

No. The Qibla direction is calculated locally from your GPS coordinates. No internet connection is required.

Go to Settings → More → Affirmation Categories. You can toggle on or off categories such as Gratitude, Patience, and Reflection. At least one category must remain selected.

All affirmations are written and curated in-house and stored locally on your device. They are never fetched from the internet and do not require a connection to display.

Your coordinates (latitude and longitude) are used to compute accurate prayer times and the Qibla direction for your exact location. This is done entirely on your device — your coordinates are never uploaded to our servers.

Yes. You can manually search for your city using the location search feature and Establish will use that city's coordinates instead. No GPS permission is needed in that case.
